Scheduling & Payment Questions-

  • How do I make an appointment?

    You can schedule an appointment by booking online, by telephone, or by email. Once scheduled you will receive a confirmation email and an online intake. If you have questions feel free to give us a call.   503-287-1444.

  • How do I cancel an appointment?

    If it is over 24 hours before your scheduled appointment you can cancel online or give us a call. If you need to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice you must contact your therapist’s cell phone directly. (Cell phone numbers listed on the confirmation email.) You may be billed up to 100% for appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice. 

  • How can I buy a gift certificate?
    Online gift certificates are always available through our website. You choose the design and customize the message. You will be able to print,  email, or text the recipient of the gift card right away. Online Gift Certificates
  • Can I schedule a couples massage online?

    Couples massage requires a little more coordination with our therapists. Please give us a call or send us an email to schedule an appointment. We offer a limited number of online couples appointments each week. To book online choose  “2 LMTS Rotating therapists” as your practitioner. If you prefer a specific therapist or would like a day or time not available online please- call or email

  • What type of payments do practitioners accept?
    Cash. Check. Paypal. Venmo. Credit and Debit cards incur $2.50 fee.
  • Are your offices wheelchair accessible?
    Unfortunately, due to our location up one flight of stairs we are not able to accommodate clients requiring wheelchair access. Please email us for information on in home visits.
  • Should I tip after my treatment, How much should I tip?
    Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. Tipping is something that is always appreciated and never expected. We love what we do and gratefully accept tips as a token of appreciation.  But if adding a tip becomes a barrier to coming regularly, we would always prefer to see you more often. For those able to tip it is customary to tip 10-20%. And keep in mind that gift certificates and prepaid sessions do not include a gratuity. If you are not able to tip but still want to show appreciation consider referring a friend, leaving us an online review, or pay with cash, check, or Venmo to avoid credit and debit card fees.
  • Can I use my HSA (health savings account) debit card to pay for my massage?
    Yes. All Massage practitioners can accept HSA debit cards or can give you a coded receipt to submit for reimbursement.
  • Insurance Questions-

  • Do you take insurance ?
    At Body Aware Massage we are in network with many major insurance carriers.  Although, not all therapists accept all types of insurance. In order to confirm if your plan covers massage with us, please call your insurance company directly. In the event your massage is not reimbursed under your plan, you will be billed directly for our services. See our insurance page for more details.
  • Can I schedule online if I'm using insurance?
    If your health insurance plan covers massage therapy and you would like to schedule an appointment, you are welcome to book online. Please note which therapists in our office accept insurance, and if we are in network with your plan. We will bill for our services directly with your insurance carrier. Feel free to give us a call if you have questions or visit our insurance page.If you were injured in an auto accident, have an open PIP claim, and have a referral from a primary care practitioner, we can bill your auto insurance directly.  Please bring this information with you to your first visit, or email us ahead of time.   • Which type of massage is covered by my insurance?
    Please book for a medical massage or manual therapy session if you will be using insurance. These sessions are 60 minutes in duration and include; initial assessment, treatment plan, detailed charting, coordination with your primary care provider, and submission to your insurance. If you would like to add an upgrade or extend your session beyond 60 minutes, this will not be covered by insurance, and must be paid directly to your therapist at the time of service. CBD oil included at no extra cost. (by request)

  • Do you have more than one person named Willow that works there?
    Yes as a matter of fact we do. Aradia Willow- Sunlight is a massage therapist and the owner of Body Aware. Willow Light-Ladd is our esthetics and skin care specialist. This can confuse people sometimes, but it is a complete coincidence and the gift of hippie parents.
  • Do I have to listen to whale calls or flutes during my massage?
    No way. We play Pandora stations from all different genres of music and we like requests! Always feel free to ask for music that helps you to feel relaxed, whatever that may be
  • Ethics Policy Questions-

  • Do you offer erotic/sexual massage?
    Although certainly not asked frequently, it is a question that we want to clearly address. Body Aware specializes in therapy driven, professional massage only. Any sexual innuendo, advance or remark towards a practitioner at Body Aware Massage is EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN. Any client soliciting Body Aware Massage for sexual services will be reported to the Portland Police immediately and will still be responsible for the full cost of the time booked. Additionally, our therapists reserve the right to cancel or end a session if they feel uncomfortable for any reason. If you are looking for something other than professional massage services we ask that you do not contact us!
  • Do you offer a safe, supportive, body positive environment to all people ?
    Absolutely. Regardless of size, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity this is a judgement free zone. We strive to always be a safe space, where our clients feel supported and cared for.
